Chiefs Preseason Schedule To Be Released Tomorrow

New, comments

We were just talking about the NFL schedule and what pops up? News from the NFL offices that the schedule will be released tomorrow.

Sorry folks -- it's just the preseason schedule. But, hey, it's the offseason. We'll take what we can get.

It should be out at 2:00 PM Arrowhead time (That's central time).

This should answer the question of whether the Chiefs will play the Packers in the preseason finale.

According to a report in the Green Bay Press-Gazette last week, Todd Haley and Packers coach Mike McCarthy have discussed playing each other in the preseason finale. The NFL sets the schedule for the first three preseason games and teams can schedule their finale.

The NFL schedule has been a bit of a story in the past couple weeks. Historically, the NFL releases some primetime games, including Thanksgiving, at the owners meetings. That did not happen this year.

The reason, according to Commissioner Roger Goodell, is that the NFL is thinking about playing all intra-divisional games in week 17 (and much of week 16) to avoid situations like the one we had with the Colts last season.

There's no official date on when the regular season schedule will be released but I'm on record as guessing Tuesday, April 13th.

We'll be listening intently that day to see if Clark Hunt got his wish for a nationally televised home opener.
