Chiefs GM Says This Is A Deep Draft 'For A Number Of Positions'

Kansas City Chiefs GM Scott Pioli appeared on Sirius NFL Radio last week and touched on a number of draft-related topics as we wait (and wait....and wait) for April 22nd.

One thing that caught my eye was a question from Sirius host and FOXSports.com NFL reporter Alex Marvez: What positions in particular are deep?

"I think offensive line is pretty strong," Pioli said. Perhaps an indication that the offensive line can wait?

Maybe not. Read on.

"I think the defensive line has a couple of good players," he continued.

Okay, so both sides of the line are deep. Maybe a skill position early since the lines are so deep?

"The secondary...." he went on.

Okay, so we're not so lucky to draw any conclusions from what he has to say. Every position is strong it appears.

"I don't know if there is a weak position, really," he said. "There are solid picks across the board."

Pioli said the Chiefs are planning on picking the fifth spot but obviously that can change.

"I'm excited about it," he replied. "We have two No. 2 picks so we're going to be busy. We have three picks in the top 50."

Sigh. I should have known better than to think we could've gotten some useful information from Pioli in a public interview.
