The Kansas City Chiefs placed only a first round tender on restricted free agent Derrick Johnson leaving some to believe that that was an indication that they'd be willing to move him.
As it turns out, DJ will not sign an offer sheet with another team (that was unlikely to begin with).
He has signed his tender, according to Adam Caplan of Scout.com.
But that doesn't mean he won't be traded. It just means that the Chiefs completely control his rights and don't have to risk someone signing him to an offer sheet and plucking him (although the "risk" is a first round pick here).
The Chiefs never announced the tender levels so all of this information is coming from various reports but we've pretty much nailed it down.
