On Monday we passed a long a note that former Kansas City Chiefs GM Carl Peterson was in Orlando, FL at the NFL owners' meetings.
Peterson is currently the chairman of USA Football -- the governing body of youth football -- so I suspected he was down there for something to do with that.
Well, as it turns out he's down there with Dolphins owner Stephen Ross -- except it's not in the capacity you think it might be.
Bob Gretz of BobGretz.com is reporting:
Peterson is working with Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. No, he’s not replacing Bill Parcells as the major football domo of the Chiefs. He’s working with Ross to sell NFL owners on Game-Day Vision, an interactive mobile device that will be available to season ticket holders at Sun Life Stadium this fall for Dolphins games.
The device allows you to check the scores of other games around the league, statistics and even order food and drinks. It's like a phone but tailored to the NFL experience.
Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke on these types of innovations to spice up the fan experience.
Carl's role, Gretz reports, is helping get this device into other NFL stadiums outside of South Florida.
