Chiefs Schedule Should Be Released In About Three Weeks

Commissioner Roger Goodell told reporters yesterday at the annual owners' meetings in Orlando, FL that the NFL schedule will be released about the same time as last year.

Mr. (Howard) Katz (senior vice president of media) is hard at work in the next room working on that. We usually get the schedule out, and I presume it will be around the same time, in mid-April. Howard is making all those decisions.

The 2008 schedule was released on Tuesday, April 15th. The 2009 schedule was released on Tuesday, April 14th.

The 2010 schedule? My guess is Tuesday, April 13th.

If you're new to obsessively following the Chiefs, then you should know that's the next big date we're waiting for (other than pro days and pre-draft visits) is the release of the 2010 schedule.

Sure, we know the teams, but you have to know if your team has a favorable first or second half of the schedule, where the divisional opponents lie and, of course, the prime-time games.

Last year was a lot of fun to follow.

The schedule was set to be released on NFL Network at 6:00 PM. A few hours before that, some games were leaked to the media and so we started to match up the Chiefs schedule.

Then you're going to have to pop open the Royals schedule so you don't double book the Truman Sports Complex, keep in mind teams usually don't travel from the east coast to the west coast and all kinds of other scenarios come into play.

So if you needed something to look forward to, the release of the NFL schedule is it.
