The Kansas City Chiefs have been rumored to be interested in LT Bryan Bulaga out of Iowa mainly due to the connection between GM Scott Pioli and Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz.
To be clear, there have only been rumors the Chiefs are interested. There have been no reports of contract, workouts or anything like that.
The National Football Post reports today a handful of Iowa players will conduct a pro day, despite the annual NFL owners' meetings going on in Florida as we speak.
Prospects from the 11-2 Iowa Hawkeyes will be in action in Iowa City today for a slew of NFL personnel expected to be in attendance.
Some of the notable participants include offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga, tight end Tony Moeaki, linebackers Pat Angerer and A.J. Edds and cornerback Amari Spievey.
The connection between Pioli and Ferentz is so strong that prior to Todd Haley's arrival in Kansas City, a lot of folks were predicting Ferentz would be the Chiefs next coach.
And of course Pioli and Co. have demonstrated that sometimes who you know is just as important as what you know so it's important to keep the Ferentz connection in mind.
We haven't confirmed whether the Chiefs are in attendance but my gut tells me they are.
