Chiefs Showing Interest In A Defensive End Turned Linebacker

The Kansas City Chiefs are showing interest in a defensive end out of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Hall Davis is a tweener meaning the 4-3 folks have him tabbed as a defensive end and the 3-4 folks have him as an outside linebacker.

He's 6'4", 271 pounds so his size could fit for both, although that's a little heavy for an outside linebacker and a 4.86 forty yard dash.

The Chiefs and another 3-4 team, the San Francisco 49ers, are showing the most interest, according to Joshua Parrott of The Advertiser (via Arrowheadlines).

"Some guys want me to play in the 3-4 role, some guys want me to play as a hands-down end," said Davis. "Some guys want me to drop some weight, some guys want me to gain some weight. It's all about which team drafts me. I played more of a 4-3 end as a junior and was more a 3-4 end as a senior, so I feel like I can play both positions."

Like Tamba Hali before the 3-4 switch, Davis hasn't played without his hands on the ground. It's difficult to determine how well guys will do with positions changes like that.

24 teams were represented at the pro day. Davis is expected to go in the mid-to-late rounds.
