Chiefs Visiting With Ryan Lilja On Monday

Had enough offensive line news today? I hope not.

According to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network, the Kansas City Chiefs have a visit scheduled with free agent guard Ryan Lilja, who was cut from the Indianapolis Colts this week.

Per La Canfora, the visit is scheduled for Monday.

According to a report from 810 WHB, the Chiefs contacted Lilja earlier in the week but told him they didn't want to pay high dollar.

Lilja has been dubbed "the one that got away" by a few folks in Kansas City. He grew up in the Kansas City area attending Shawnee Mission Northwest high school and then Kansas State.

He came to the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2004 and, as the story goes, the Chiefs tried to pass him through waivers to add him to the practice squad but Bill Polian and Co. saw what was going on and snagged him.

Lilja is just 28 years old and has five years of starting experience with the Colts.

He failed his physical with the Colts and they also said they planned on going bigger on the offensive line. He's about 6'2", 290 pounds which should fit in well with the Chiefs, who prefer smaller offensive linemen.
