[Update 1:15 PM: McClain's agent says his client has a tweaked hamstring, which is why he's not running]
Despite what many thought, Alabama LB Rolando McClain will not be working out at the NFL Combine, according to NFL Network.
"McClain isn't injured - he just decided it wouldn't be in his best interests to work out at the combine," Justin Hathaway of NFL.com reported.
This is an interesting development because many scouts had said the biggest question mark surrounding McClain was his speed, which was set to be on full display today at the NFL Combine workouts.
This means that if the Kansas City Chiefs are interested in him, they'll have to wait until March 10th, the date of Alabama's Pro Day, to see him compete.
He feels that he plays best in the inside of a 3-4 defense.
"I played a 4-3 in high school and 3-4 under Coach Saban," McClain said this weekend according to AP's Matt Conner. "I'm a lot better in the 3-4, but Saban's defense is known for being good. But yes, I was better in the 3-4 defense."
McClain measured in at 6'3", 254 pounds and is rated by many as the No. 1 inside linebacker.
