The Chiefs on Monday waived two linebackers the team announced.
Justin Rogers was on and off the 53 man roster throughout the season. He was signed a total of three times (the team will tell you two, but it was three) and played mostly special teams.
Weston Dacus was also waived. Way back in the offseason, the team announced that Dacus had been waived.
Then, at the end of training camp, he magically appeared back on the roster but under injured reserve. We never heard what happened but he was likely injured when originally released and placed on IR instead.
This is the first day of offseason cuts so we may have to wait until the start of the new league year on March 5th before anymore major roster moves occur.
Taking a look at the Chiefs outside linebackers shows that it's a fairly big need. Just three remain on the roster: Tamba Hali, Andy Studebaker and Pierre Walters.
