Chiefs Announce Partnership With 810 WHB

Over the last few months, I heard rumors floating around some media folks that the reason some of the afternoon talent on 810 WHB (Between The Lines with Kevin Kietzmann) wasn't overly critical of the new regime is that they were trying to secure the radio rights to the Chiefs.

We'll never know if that's the case but today the Chiefs announced a partnership with 810 WHB and an extension to their deal with 101.1 the Fox.

In addition, the Chiefs announced a groundbreaking new radio partnership with Sports Radio 810 (WHB-AM). Sports Radio 810 has secured exclusive rights to other Chiefs programming, including the second hour of the official Chiefs postgame show, live press conferences, Chiefs shows and more.

The Chiefs called the agreement "innovative" and new COO Mark Donovan said the opportunity to partner with two of the stronger media companies in the area was a good move for the organization.

"The opportunity to partner with two of the strongest media companies in the region makes this an exciting day for our organization and more importantly our fans. We look forward to working with KCFX and WHB to create year-round Chiefs programming and continuing to deliver award-winning game day coverage."

Interesting...

Chiefs GM Scott Pioli was on Between the Lines this afternoon so I'm going to report back soon with some of the details of what he had to say.
