Peppers Draws Interest From A Couple Teams, Reports Say

Soon to be ex-Carolina Panthers DE Julius Peppers is drawing interest from a couple of teams, according to reports.

Jason LaCanfora reports the Chicago Bears have Peppers tabbed as their "top free agent target."  This is an interesting option because the Bears historically aren't big spenders in free agency.  I would be surprised if this is where he ended up.

Brian Seltzer of ESPN Philadelphia also reported that "the Eagles are a target of Julius Peppers' interests" which means he'd like to play for them. Of course, the Eagles would have to pony up the money to pay him.

The New England Patriots have been a popular landing spot for those speculating on Peppers' future. However, several reports have indicated that the Patriots aren't likely to be the highest bidder in the Peppers sweepstakes so we'll see if he'd be willing to take less than market value to play for a winner.

There haven't been any reports linking the Chiefs to Peppers services. However, he's still technically under contract until March 5th so any public interest would be a tampering violation.

Chiefs GM Scott Pioli is well aware of the rules of tampering and wouldn't be caught (publicly) violating the rules.
