Several weeks ago we told you former Chiefs greats Willie Lanier and Buck Buchanan would be inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame. Click here to read a little more about it from us (via Arrowheadlines). Or here's a little more from Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star.
Chiefs GM Scott Pioli commented on the tremendous honor for Lanier and Buchanan.
"Buck and Willie broke barriers," Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli said in a statement. "The Chiefs were fortunate to draft both of these Hall of Fame performers, who became respected leaders on some of the greatest teams in franchise history."
If Pioli drafts the next Lanier and Buchanan, then I suspect he really will be here forever.
