Carl Peterson Took The Chiefs From $83 Million To $1 Billion

New, comments

You can tell it's the offseason when there are two Carl Peterson posts in one day. Nevertheless, we're talking Carl Peterson and his ability to increase the value of a franchise.

"I'm proud of what we were able to accomplish in Kansas City. When I started, the organization had 68 employees and the valuation of the franchise was $83 million. When I left, the Chiefs had 178 employees and were worth more than a billion," he said.

Now, some of that is inflation and the value of the NFL itself rising but those are some pretty amazing numbers.

That's from 1989 when he was hired to basically the start of 2009 when he was released.
