Sigh.
Football will only get closer from here on out but we're a solid six months away from seeing another real live game. The Hall of Fame game kicks off preseason football every year in August.
I'm officially depressed with the lack of football over the coming months. Sure, we've got the other season - the NFL Draft - but these first few weeks after the Super Bowl are always a real downer.
If you've been following Arrowhead Pride for some time, then you know we'll continue to have content (I didn't say good content) every day including commentary, photos and all kinds of other (semi-) Chiefs-related stories.
After that, the start of the new league year comes on March 5th. That means…Free agency! That starts at midnight on the 5th so we'll be inviting you to join us in staying up late like we did last year. I may have to take the next day off of work, though. Last year was rough moving on three hours of sleep.
After free agency, the Chiefs will conduct some voluntary workouts in March as we continue to prep for the NFL Draft in April.
Judging from past history, April will be a crazy month. Last year, we smashed all traffic records in April, including number of comments and posts. That was the first time we passed one million page views in a month. Now, that would be considered a low point for us. We expect to at least double that this April.
After the draft, it's the real offseason. May, June and July are a little rough with rookie signings and the occasional voluntary mini-camp.
With August comes the Hall of Fame game, or the first sign of real football. Training camp, preseason games…football is back at that point.
See, that's not too long, right?
