On Dec. 2 a FOXSports.com report surfaced that the Kansas City Chiefs had filed tampering charges with the NFL against the Detroit Lions. Shortly after that, the Detroit Free-Press reported that the allegations centered around former Chief Jarrad Page and Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham.
Since then, the NFL, Lions and Chiefs have declined comment. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz was asked about it at a news conference and said he couldn't say anything.
Now the man reported to be at the center of the allegations -- Gunther Cunningham -- has also declined comment, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free-Press.
"I can’t even begin to comment on that."
And again...
"I don’t want to say anything, really. I really don’t."
I'm sure everyone involved has been instructed not to say anything. The NFL's next announcement would only be about any discipline imposed (if there is discipline)
