At Least One Injured Chiefs Player Is Upgraded

The Kansas City Chiefs have just three players on the injury report so far this week which, for Week 14, is a nice, low number. Of course one of those guys is QB Matt Cassel and he's kiiind of important to the team's success. Cassel didn't practice on Thursday for the second consecutive day.

But there is one Chief that's getting upgraded.

S Donald Washington who was out of practice on Wednesday returned on Thursday, though listed as limited. Washington is recovering from an ankle injury. Reporters saw him on Monday with some sort of boot on his foot.

The final player on the injury report is S Kendrick Lewis, who was limited on Thursday. Lewis suffered an ankle injury last week against before the Denver Broncos game. The Chiefs are now 7-1 with him and 1-3 without him.

Obviously the Cassel injury front is disappointing but just looking at the Chiefs injury report from a volume standpoint -- they're pretty healthy. As a reference, tonight's game between the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans features an injury report with 23 players combined -- 17 from the Colts.
