Well, this may have gotten a little more interesting.
On Wednesday the Kansas City Chiefs announced QB Tyler Palko had been added to the active roster from the practice squad. My first question upon hearing that was: Why call him up now if you've been playing with just two quarterbacks all year?
We don't have any answers but the timing of it all is very interesting as Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star reports QB Matt Cassel was nowhere to be seen during the portion of practice open to the media on Wednesday.
Cassel wasn't in the conditioning area and wasn't seen on the sidelines of the team's indoor facility, where the Chiefs were working.
Maybe it's nothing and this is a huge coincidence but it's hard to figure out why Cassel wouldn't be on the practice field five days before the biggest game of the year.
Cassel made a couple of appearances in the community on Tuesday and reports didn't note anything out of the ordinary.
As of this posting, Cassel's press conference is still scheduled for this afternoon. Maybe we'll have answers by then.
