Brandon Flowers injury news has been the trending topic of the week around here. Heading into Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos, Flowers was listed on the injury report as questionable with a hamstring injury. There were concerns over whether he would play but ultimately he did.
In the second half of the game, Flowers exited the game with some sort of leg injury. I saw him on the sidelines stretching with a trainer before ultimately sitting on the bench as two trainers checked on his legs.
Towards the end of the game, Flowers was seen being carried off the field. Here a photo from the TV broadcast caught by AP reader ashleylat:
Yeah...actually carried.
Luckily, the Chiefs were able to pull out a 10-6 victory without him (at full strength). Also lucky is that the injury apparently isn't a big deal and isn't related to his hamstring injury.
"It was pretty much cramping," Flowers said, per 610 Sports' Josh Klingler. "I’m good."
We'll see how his practice week goes starting on Wednesday but I don't have to tell you how important he is to the team.
Jamaal Charles and Dexter McCluster appeared to be banged up at one point in the game as well. Charles talked with reporters after the game and showed no visible signs of an injury. McCluster left the field limping at one point after he was caught at the bottom of a pile, but did return. He couldn't speak to reporters after the game because he was going to get treatment. Terrence Copper also left the field after getting injured but later returned. He looked fine walking in the locker room.
