The Kansas City Chiefs are holding onto a 10-3 lead over the Denver Broncos as we move into halftime. The low score is somewhat surprising considering the result of the last time these two teams met when Denver put up 21 first quarter point. Today, the Chiefs defense is the story as they've been bending but not quite breaking.
The Chiefs scored on a Matt Cassel to Leonard Pope touchdown pass and a field goal with seconds remaining in the first half.
Matt Cassel is having a so-so day (relative to the high standard he's set recently) with 138 yards and a touchdown pass completing 11-of-19 passes. Jamaal Charles is your leading rusher with eight attempts for 45 yards and Thomas Jones has carried the ball just twice for five yards. Charles has added 20 yards receiving while Jones three catches for 42 yards including a 20-yard catch and run that set up the Chiefs first touchdown.
KC's defense has been holding strong as Denver drove 85 yards in the final minutes of the first half -- but got just a field goal out of it. Knowshon Moreno has put up 85 yards on 15 carries so that's an area to watch heading into the second half.
