The Kansas City Chiefs can move to 6-0 at Arrowhead Stadium on the season with a victory against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. There are always plenty of questions but today there are three big ones for me and they involved Dexter's return, Kyle Orton's hot hand and Kendrick Lewis' availability.
How will Dexter be worked back into the lineup? WR Dexter McCluster should be returning from a high ankle sprain for the first time since Oct. 24. When KC drafted McCluster, I'm sure there were questions of his durability -- being a small guy and all -- so I'm curious how he responds from this injury. It's also worth noting that before the injury we heard a couple of offensive players say they were going to work on getting him more involved.
Will Kyle Orton turn into Peyton Manning again? Orton lit the Chiefs up like he was Manning (if Manning could light up Romeo Crennel) the last time these two teams played. What adjustments has KC made to stop this? Clearly, Denver had a coaching edge last time around because they went at the Chiefs early and often -- and it worked. What adjustments will we see?
Will Kendrick Lewis play today? Lewis was downgraded over the weekend from probable to questionable. The Chiefs wouldn't have made that move unless there was a very real possibility he misses the game today. We've already resigned ourselves to Brandon Flowers, who is questionable, missing the game on Sunday. Jon McGraw is expected back but with Flowers, and Jackie Bates already ruled out, it could be a touchy day back there. KC was missing two safeties last time they played Denver and they were lit up. This time they could be missing a safety and two corners.
