Chiefs Downgrade Kendrick Lewis For Broncos Game

The Kansas City Chiefs injury report was issued on Friday and S Kendrick Lewis was listed as probable with an ankle injury. On Saturday, the Chiefs confirmed Lewis was downgraded to questionable (as first reported by Bob Gretz of BobGretz.com) for the Denver Broncos game on Sunday. He was added to the injury report on Thursday.

Though S Jon McGraw is expected back on Sunday, this is an injury situation to keep an eye on. We all know the stat by now: The Chiefs are 7-1 with Kendrick Lewis and 0-3 without him. The Chiefs didn't have Lewis (or McGraw) three weeks ago when they visited Denver and three first quarter passing touchdowns reflected that.

The rest of the injury report remains the same. CB Brandon Flowers is reportedly expected to sit this game out, though the Chiefs list him as questionable. CB Jackie Bates has been ruled out. G Ryan Lilja and McGraw are both probable to play.

It seems that the Chiefs are having some problems in the secondary as one injury after another nicks that group up. Considering the result in the Chiefs last game against the Broncos, the play of the secondary will be one of the keys to the game.
