Kansas City Chiefs RB Thomas Jones On Jim Rome

You ever wonder what a workout is like for Kansas City Chiefs RB Thomas Jones? Here's just part of his "Fast Friday": five sets of six reps of squats, four sets of hamstring curls for eight reps, four sets of leg extensions for eight reps, six or seven sets of 228 bench for eight reps. Suffice to say, you can see where he gets his physique.

Jones joined Jim Rome on Friday afternoon and once again showed why a lot of people like this guy.

A few highlights from the interview include Jones saying Jamaal Charles is one of the best running backs he's been around, admitting KC has the best barbecue and talking about getting his Master's in Education. Oh, and he's got a scholarship for 30 kids back in Virginia. Cool dude.

Here are a few more tidbits from his interview:

On splitting carries: "Each season is different. With the way this league is, and the running game being as important as it is in this time of year when it starts to get cold, I'm glad i'm in a situation where we have two backs. It keeps me fresh."

On Jamaal Charles: "Jamaal is a great kid, a great plyaer, one of the best running backs I've been around."

On playing in KC: "This has been a great experience for me. Kansas City is a great city. Like you said, they love fotoball. It almost feels like I'm back at the University of Virginia."

On the BBQ: "The best barbecue here is probably the best barbecue I've ever had, so that's not bad either."

On his game: "I still feel I can do all the things I've done in the past."

On Dwayne Bowe: "Dwayne Bowe is having an amazing year. He's kind of the prototype receiver, physically, and him and Matt have a good relationship and a great chemistry now. Sometimes it just takes some repetitions and being in tough situations for people to grow. Dwayne Bowe is one of the best receivers in the league and it's starting to show."

On getting his Master's degree: "I need 15 credits for my Master's in Education and that's something I'm defintiely going to go back to the University of Virginia to get. It's something that's really important. It's something you can always say you did."

On the Master's and the scholarships: "I'm as proud of those things as I am with football. I come from a family where education was stressed."
