Kansas City Chiefs rookie Eric Berry picked off a Kerry Collins pass shortly before halftime against the Tennessee Titans and, with the help of some fine blocking, returned it 54 yards for the score. That was enough to help Berry become a candidate for the Week 16 NFL rookie of the week.
Can Berry win it this time? He's been a candidate multiple times but has yet to win. WR Dexter McCluster won it in Week 1 and TE Tony Moeaki won it in Week 3.
You can vote at NFL.com. Wouldn't it be awfully nice if he could beat out Tim Tebow for the award? Here's what NFL.com says about the rest of the candidates:
Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden: "Haden made five tackles, had one sack, forced one fumble and had an interception in the Browns' 20-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens."
St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford: "Bradford led the Rams' 25-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers, completing 28 of 37 passes for 292 yards and one touchdown. Bradford set an NFL record for completions in a rookie season."
Minnesota Vikings QB Joe Webb: "Webb passed for 195 yards and rushed for 32 yards and a touchdown to lead Minnesota past Philadelphia, 24-14, on Tuesday night."
Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow: "Tebow led the Broncos to a 24-23 win over the Houston Texans, completing 16 of 29 passes for 308 yards and one touchdown with one interception and adding a rushing TD."
We'll hear the winner on Friday afternoon.
