We're looking at various NFL playoff scenarios for the Kansas City Chiefs and it's really coming down to a couple of names, but mostly just one name -- the New York Jets.

A lot can change but if the games next weekend go the way they're supposed to then we can expect Rex Ryan and the Jets to be visiting Kansas City on January 8 or 9 for the opening round of the playoffs.

Here's how the AFC race looks right now: 1.) Patriots 2.) Steelers 3.) Chiefs 4.) Colts 5.) Ravens 6.) Jets

The Chiefs as the third seed in the AFC playoff picture would play the sixth seed while the fourth seed will play the fifth seed. The first and second seeds would get a bye.

There are a couple of keys next week. First, the Chiefs confirming themselves as the third seed with a win or a Colts loss. Second, the Steelers and Ravens games next week. A Pittsburgh loss combined with a Baltimore victory would give the Ravens the second seed, Jets the fifth seed and Steelers the sixth seed.

Of course the Chiefs can throw a wrench in all of this by losing Sunday against the Raiders and seeing the Colts pass them for the third seed.
