Chiefs Wouldn't Mind If Bengals Played Spoiler To Chargers

The common assumption this week has been that the Kansas City Chiefs need to win out to make the playoffs. That would guarantee them a playoff spot and folks are saying that because the San Diego Chargers are arguably the second hottest team in the NFL right now behind the New England Patriots, they need to win out as the Chargers will do the same.

The assumption has been that the Chargers will take care of business against the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend. But will they? Bengals QB Carson Palmer says they can be a spoiler.

"We have a chance to spoil somebody’s season because our season has already been spoiled, and I think that is also weighing heavy on our guys. It’s a good situation for us to be in. We’ve got nothing to lose. We know what we are playing for; we’re playing for a win and to slow somebody’s season down."

A Chargers loss would make things easier for the Chiefs. If San Diego loses, and KC wins, then the Chiefs clinch the division title this Sunday. (Ain't no party like a clinch party) A Chargers loss and a Chiefs loss just puts the pressure on Week 17.

The Chiefs play the early game on Sunday and the Chargers-Bengals are the late game so we won't know until 6:00 p.m. (Arrowhead time) or so if the Chiefs are division champs.

What do you think? Will Cincy rain on San Diego's parade?
