Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster hasn't played since Oct. 24th for what's been reported as a high ankle sprain. Those types of injuries generally take a few weeks to heal and, in McCluster's case, it took five weeks. Last week McCluster was on the field warming up before the game but ultimately the coaches decided he needed one more week.
That week will be against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Kent Babb of the KC Star reports via Twitter:
Dexter McCluster told me a few minutes ago that he will definitely play this week against Denver. Said coaches have told him as much.
McCluster has since been taken off the Chiefs injury report so if he's not playing, it'll be a surprise to everyone.
McCluster's return will be interesting to say the least. The Chiefs have clearly learned how to play -- and be productive -- without him. But you can never have too many playmakers on the field -- well, maybe you can -- so McCluster's return will be welcomed with open arms.
