We're nearing the end of the third quarter and the Kansas City Chiefs and Matt Cassel are beating the St. Louis Rams 17-6. Cassel is playing pretty darn well for the Chiefs today, considering his recent appendectomy. He's completing about 50% of his passes and has thrown one touchdown and one interception. He's also ran the ball a few times, got hit, got back up and gained some yards in the process.
The second half has been played pretty evenly between these two teams. But that is good for the Chiefs, who still lead by two scores. The Chiefs have the only score of the second half - a career long 53-yard field goal by Chiefs' K Ryan Succop.
Jamaal Charles was briefly on the ground holding his leg after a tackle, much to the horror of Chiefs' fans everywhere. But not to worry, it appears to only be cramps. He's still averaging almost 5 yards per rush plus the Chiefs' second touchdown.
Big plays don't seem to be a factor today so as long as the Chiefs' hold firm, trading scores at the very least, we're looking good to pull this one out against the Rams.
