Chiefs vs. Rams: Five Pregame Predictions

The Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams will meet today in the Edward Jones Dome. The news on Matt Cassel is still up in the air as he's active for the game but it's not clear if he'll start. Here are my five pregame predictions. Yes, my blind optimism is back!

Dwayne Bowe gets back on track...sort of. I'm predicting Dwayne Bowe catches a touchdown pass today but he won't get more than a few catches. I don't think Bowe has a major impact on the game but I do think he scores a touchdown in the red zone. For Bowe, I'm thinking three catches for 55 yards.

Chiefs dominate the red zone. The Rams aren't very good in the red zone defensively. The Chiefs will enter the red zone three times and score all three times. I'm thinking two touchdowns and a field goal.

Chiefs win the turnover battle. The Chiefs won the turnover battle last week against the San Diego Chargers but it didn't make a difference as San Diego whooped up on the Chiefs. The Chiefs win the turnover battle today and it does make a difference.

Steven Jackson gets shut down. I think the Chiefs make the Rams one dimensional by shutting down Steven Jackson in the run game. Jackson has 20 carries but doesn't top 70 yards.

Chiefs win the game. Yes I'm predicting a Chiefs victory. I predicted the loss last week -- first time all season -- but the Chiefs get back on track for the road to the playoffs. Chiefs win 24-20.
