Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley talked with Mitch Holthus on KCTV5 for the Hy-Vee Insider Show in advance of Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams. Haley always says stopping the run is the No. 1 priority for the Chiefs and that's no different this week as he keys in on RB Steven Jackson.

"He is the complete package," Haley said. "He is a true stud. Big, strong, fast, breaks tackles and, you said it, really catches the ball well. You have to be alert for him wherever he is. He's a big, big percentage of their offense before the day's over. If you don't stop him early and you let him get going, you're going to have your work cut out for you even to hang in there.

"That is No. 1 on the priority list -- to stop Steven Jackson."

The Chiefs want to make teams one dimensional. That's always their goal. If they can put the Rams in passing situations, I like the chances Romeo Crennel will have a game plan that can beat QB Sam Bradford.

Jackson is a rare case in that he's been very productive as a running back for an extended period of time. With his running style, on that surface in the dome, I'm surprised he's been so good for so long.

So heads up to fantasy football players -- Todd Haley intends to stop your No. 1 running back.
