I can't say that I've been paying a ton of attention to the Oakland Raiders recently. The Kansas City Chiefs tend to consume most of my time. So this week I've been looking over some stats on the bad guys and noticed that Raiders RB Darren McFadden has some RB Jamaal Charles in him.

No, McFadden isn't quite on Charles' level yet but he's getting close. Check out McFadden's numbers this year.

By season: 122 carries -- 668 yards -- 5.5 yards per carry

By game: 18-95, 30-145, 25-105, 12-47, 16-165, 21-111

Yards per carry is a good area to excel in because it's effectiveness broken down by carry. Charles is among the best (in NFL history) in that area.  5.5 yards per carry is a very good number for McFadden and he does have four 100-plus yard games this year.

Still, it's no Jamaal Charles.

By season: 103 carries -- 666 yards -- 6.5 yards per carry

By game: 11-92, 11-49, 12-97, 16-87, 16-93, 15-71, 22-177

The Chiefs also have a better No. 2 back. RB Thomas Jones has RB Michael Bush beat by nearly 250 yards and .8 more yards per carry.

The Raiders running backs, especially Darren McFadden, are looking pretty good right now. I wouldn't put them in the same category as the Chiefs duo but they're a group that definitely can't be taken lightly.
