Charlie Weis Finally Beats Pete Carroll

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis has done it. He's finally beaten Pete Carroll. The former Notre Dame head coach faced the head coach of USC on five occasions and all five times Weis' Irish couldn't hold on.

It's fitting that, in the same week Notre Dame beats USC, Weis and the KC Chiefs met Carroll. It may have taken an extra year -- and a change of teams -- but Weis got his in the form of a Chiefs 42-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks

Weis only speaks to reporters on Fridays so the opportunity to ask him how it feels to beat Carroll isn't there but Chiefs QB Matt Cassel laid the groundwork for what Weis' response would be.

"I knew this was a big game for the Kansas City Chiefs," Cassel said, per the Kansas City Star. "By no means was this about coach Carroll and myself. I played for him six years ago. I’ve had some time to move on from there."

Every win feels good but, for Weis, I'm sure this one has a little extra to it.
