The Kansas City Chiefs were in first place entering Week 12 and they beat the Seattle Seahawks so they're in first place exiting Week 12. The KC Chiefs 7-4 record gives them a one-game lead on the San Diego Chargers, who beat the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football.

The good news is that KC still holds the key to their future with a Dec. 12 matchup against the Chargers in Qualcomm Stadium.

The bad news is that the Chargers are hot. Really hot. They have now won four in a row in what is becoming an annual midseason winning streak. Their offense looks incredible as they've put up 33, 29, 35 and 36 points in those four games and they just went on the road and stream-rolled Indy.

We're getting closer to the point where the Oakland Raiders will be knocked out. They're two games out of first place and face the red-hot Chargers next week and travel to KC in Week 17.

Here's how the AFC West shakes out through 12 weeks:

1. Kansas City Chiefs (7-4)

2. San Diego Chargers (6-5)

3. Oakland Raiders (5-6)

4. Denver Broncos (3-8)
