KC Chiefs Cruise As AFC West Focus Shifts To Chargers, Colts

The Kansas City Chiefs disposed of the Seattle Seahawks, 42-24, giving them a 7-4 record on the year and kept them in the driver's seat in the AFC West. The Oakland Raiders lost to the Miami Dolphins dropping them to 5-6 and the Denver Broncos notched a home loss to the St. Louis Rams. KC holds a two-game lead over Oakland and a four-game lead over Denver.

So the focus now moves to the San Diego Chargers, who travel to Indy to play the Colts on Sunday Night Football.

I don't have to tell you all how big this game or how much it means to KC at this point. The Chargers are 5-5 so securing a two-game lead with five games to go would be a significant advantage for the Chiefs as the playoffs loom.

I hope I'm not jinxing this but look what might be happening with this Dec. 12 game between the Chiefs and Chargers in San Diego. If the Chargers lose tonight, and both KC and San Diego win next week, a KC victory on Dec. 12 would nearly clinch the division giving the Chiefs a three-game lead over both San Diego and Oakland with three games to go.

Of course, if the Chargers win tonight then this becomes a real dog fight and that Dec. 12 game may just decide the division.

Can you feel it in Kansas City? It's playoff fever. We've had a taste of it. Now it's time for KC to go out and get it.
