Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles Up For FedEx Ground Player Of The Week

Awards for the Kansas City Chiefs continue to pile in. A few hours after we learned S Eric Berry was up for NFL Rookie of the Week comes news that RB Jamaal Charles is up for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week. This is the second consecutive week the Chiefs have had a player up for each of these awards. In Week 7, it was Berry who was up for NFL Rookie of the Week and RB Thomas Jones who was up for FedEx Ground Player of the Week.

Neither of them won last week. Let's get at least one of the Chiefs in this week. Here's what NFL.com says about the candidates for FedEx Ground Player of the Week:

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles: Charles rushed 22 times for 177 yards, including an 18-yard run that led to a 1-yard touchdown pass, in the Chiefs' 13-10 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills.

San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore: Gore rushed 29 times for 118 yards and one touchdown in the 49ers' 24-16 win over the Denver Broncos in the NFL's fourth regular-season game in London.

New England Patriots RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis: Green-Ellis rushed 17 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns in the Patriots' 28-18 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
