Think back to last year when we talked about the Kansas City Chiefs. The word "speed" rarely came into the conversation. RB Jamaal Charles was the only player on the team that was associated with speed.
Fast forward to this year and speed is the name of the game. Arizona Cardinals CB Michael Adams says to 620 KTAR in Arizona that word is getting around that the Chiefs are a fast team.
"Yeah, my man Hamza Abdullah, he told me when he turned the tape on that he had to stretch before he watched the tape on 'em because they were that fast," he said. "They've got a lot of speed."
Abdullah played for the Denver Broncos in 2006-07 so he knows what the Chiefs were versus what they are now. GM Scott Pioli has said on numerous occasions that one of their goals was to make the Chiefs a faster team and it's apparently worked.
The reasons for the Chiefs speed include a few of the rookies including S Eric Berry, WR Dexter McCluster and CB Javier Arenas. McCluster is the one to keep an eye on as he's trying to come back from a high ankle sprain suffered over three weeks ago.
