When Matt Cassel was the quarterback of the New England Patriots in 2008 he worked closely with then-offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. The quarterback and coordinator relationship is important because the two work together so closely. So you know Cassel and McDaniels were very close.

On Sunday, Cassel the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback will meet Josh McDaniels, the Denver Broncos head coach. So....any tips shared between the two? Cassel says that's not likely because the circumstances have changed their relationship.

"I think it has changed just because you normally don’t call the opposing coach of an arch rival and say, ‘hey! What do you think of this? And what do you think of that?’ I do get to talk to him and catch up with him in the off-season but when it gets to season it is pretty much all business and I have a job to do and I know that he has a job to do."

Cassel obviously has some tendencies, as any quarterback does, and McDaniels knows him well. We went through this last year when the Chiefs played the Broncos twice and didn't notice any Bronco advantages but it's always something you think about.

It would be nice though if Cassel lit up his old coach, wouldn't it?
