In not-so-surprising news, RB Jamaal Charles is the first half MVP for the Kansas City Chiefs. 72 percent of Chiefs fans picked Charles over TE Tony Moeaki (11 percent), LT Branden Albert (3 percent), G Ryan Lilja (3 percent) and WR Dwayne Bowe (3 percent).
What more can we say about Jamaal Charles?
He's the NFL's most effective running back on a per carry basis and leads the Chiefs in rushing with 719 yards on 113 carries. He has 24 less carries than RB Thomas Jones and 149 more yards. An average game for Charles is 14 carries for 90 yards and just under three receptions for 40 yards.
He's really the only threat on the Chiefs offense that you have to game plan for and is arguably the most exciting player on the team (along with WR Dexter McCluster).
Picking Charles as the MVP is, in my mind, a no-brainer. He's the best player on the team and in the conversation for best running back in the NFL. Despite limited carries, he's nearly on pace for 2,000 yards rushing and receiving. He's the best. There's not much else to it.
Jamaal Charles...your first half offensive MVP.
