Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha May Miss Chiefs Game

The Kansas City Chiefs played the Buffalo Bills last Sunday without WR Dexter McCluster who was reported to have a high ankle sprain. Now they may be playing the Oakland Raiders next week without one of their best players because of a high ankle sprain.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that "an MRI revealed a high ankle sprain" for Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha. He's going to get a second opinion on it but the initial news isn't good for Asomugha and the Raiders.

Asomugha is far and away the best player on the Raiders. He's been tabbed as one of the top two cover corners in the league along with New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis (and nipping at their heels, Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers).

This would be bad news for the Raiders and a gift for the Chiefs. I can't imagine KC will stray too far from their run-heavy game plan we see every week but this only helps Chiefs QB Matt Cassel and the Chiefs receivers. We make fun of the Raiders often but they're looking like a legitimate team this year so any help the Chiefs can get I'm sure they'll take.

The Raiders can choose not to say anything about the report but we'll find out more on Wednesday when they issue their first practice report of the week.

Once again, things seem to be falling the Chiefs way.
