NFL Quarterly Awards Recognizing The Kansas City Chiefs

A few folks are coming out with NFL quarterly awards now that we're 4-of-17 weeks into the season.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports is one of those people and he included several Kansas City Chiefs in his quarterly awards.

(Note: In parentheses is the winner of that award when runner-up is posted.)

  • Defensive player runner-up: CB Brandon Flowers (LB Clay Matthews)
  • Head coach runner-up: Todd Haley (Mike Tomlin)
  • Assistant coach: DC Romeo Crennel
  • Best free agent pickup runner-up: RB Thomas Jones (DE Julius Peppers)
  • Surprise team: Kansas City Chiefs

Can't complain about much of that. I was thinking Jones might be a bit of a stretch but then I checked and he was top 10 in rushing yards after three weeks so he's doing something right.

Agree? Disagree?
