Chiefs vs. Colts: Secondary Has Biggest Test Yet Against Healthy Indy Receivers

The Kansas City Chiefs have a very good -- but very young -- secondary. Eric Berry, Kendrick Lewis, Brandon Flowers, Brandon Carr and Javier Arenas will have their work cut out for them on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

One of the Colts receivers, Pierre Garcon, is getting healthy and expected to play after missing the last two weeks with a hamstring injury.

That means the Chiefs can expect to see Garcon and:

  • Reggie Wayne: Leading the NFL in receptions and yards
  • Austin Collie: Scored in every game and has 275 more yards than the leading Chiefs receiver
  • Dallas Clark: 275 yards receiving this year

Clark is no Tony Gonzalez -- despite what Colts fans will tell you -- but he still has 152 more receiving yards than the next closest Chief. He also marks the third elite tight end (after Antonio Gates in Week 1 and Vernon Davis in Week 3) that Berry will have the privilege of covering at times. Talk about a welcome to the NFL. That's three of the top five tight ends in the league right there.

Check out Stampede Blue to see what Colts fans are saying about the return of Garcon and the rest of their receivers.
