Chiefs Coach Todd Haley Not Paying Attention To 3-0 Hype

If you watched NFL football in Week 4, then you probably heard quite a few commentators in the early games mentioning the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs as the only unbeaten teams.

By late Sunday night, it was just the Chiefs who were unbeaten.

So today you've got all sorts of folks talking about the Chiefs. Are they for real? How long can they keep it up? Are they a playoff team?

"It doesn’t affect me one way or the other," Chiefs head coach Todd Haley said Monday of the added attention.

"I think that my focus has been, will continue to be us, the Kansas City Chiefs, trying to make improvement, a little bit of improvement every day and that’s what I’m trying to do and what I’m trying to get all these guys to understand is important."

It may sound boring but it's probably the right mindset. I think the Chiefs got to where they are by ignoring what folks were saying about them before the season. Now that they're winning, why change their approach?

"Right now we’re three games into this first quarter of the season with one more to go," Haley said, "and we’ve got to do everything we can to be a little better today, which it looks like we’re working hard, and then Wednesday through the rest of the week."

We'll see how the players react. There's no doubt most of them caught some NFL games this weekend and heard the Chiefs talk.
