Dexter McCluster exited the Kansas City Chiefs Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with some sort of leg injury. We haven't heard anything on McCluster's status to this point.
Kent Babb of the KC Star reports that McCluster was at practice on Wednesday but wasn't running. Check out the KC Star for the details on McCluster's status at practice.
Losing McCluster wouldn't be significant for the Chiefs. He plays some running back, which Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles can handle on Sunday without him, and he's a minor part of the passing game with 15 receptions through six games.
What McCluster does do is get the defense's attention. He's one of the "game breaker" type of players that can take it the distance at any point so the opposing defense always has an eye on him.
If McCluster can't go it'll be a disappointing bump in the road. Guard Brian Waters said after last Sunday's game that the Chiefs are going to try to get him the ball more often. That was evident last week when he had season highs in catches (5) and rush attempts (4).
The Chiefs will release the Wednesday practice report this afternoon and it sounds like McCluster will be listed as limited or a did not participate.
