Jamaal Charles, Thomas Jones Continue To Make Chiefs Fans And Fantasy Owners Happy

The Kansas City Chiefs came into today's game as the NFL's leading rushing team. 236 yards rushing later, I think the Chiefs can safely assume they'll be the league's #1 rushing team again this week. The usual suspects were present - Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones

One of the most impressive series of the game was in the first quarter. After an unimpressive first drive, Dustin Colquitt punted away the ball to the Jaguars. At the end of a Jaguars 49-yard return, the Chiefs nabbed the Jags return man, forced a fumbled and got the ball back.

On the next play, Thomas Jones, not Jamaal Charles, made a ridiculous 70-yard run to set the Chiefs up at the 4-yard line. And the play after that, Jamaal Charles, not Thomas Jones, punched the ball in for six points. My buddy sitting next to me had both Jones and Charles on his fantasy team. Boom - 13 points please.

The rest of the day saw more and more solid, effective runs by a lot of Chiefs players. Jamaal Charles made me think of Priest Holmes today, falling forward for 3, 4 and sometimes 5 extra yards on average rushing plays. Dexter McCluster even added 28 yards rushing and had some nasty cuts to get those yards.

Thomas Jones ended up rushing 20 times for 125 yards. Charles rushed the ball 15 times for 71 yards. Each had a TD.

In addition to another 200+ yard rushing game by the Chiefs, KC's rush attack also produced three total touchdowns. One by Thomas Jones, one by Jamaal Charles and one by Jackie Battle. Yeah, Jackie Battle. It was a good day to be on the Chiefs.

After six games, the Chiefs are really damn good running the ball. This is awesome.
