  • Jacksonville head coach Jack Del Rio played two seasons as a linebacker with Kansas City ('87-88).
  • Jacksonville T Jordan Black (2003-06) and CB Tyron Brackenridge (2007-08) both played with Kansas City.
  • Chiefs HOF inductee Deron Cherry is a member of the Jaguars ownership group. Cherry earned six Pro Bowl berths as a safety with Kansas City.
  • Jacksonville off. coord. Dirk Koetter coached at Missouri ('89-93).
  • Jaguars assistant strength and conditioning coach Jason George coached at Kansas ('97-98).
  • Jacksonville strength and conditioning coach Luke Richesson played football at Kansas ('92-96).
  • Chiefs GM Scott Pioli ('83-87) and Jaguars athletic trainer Mike Ryan ('82-85) were both student-athletes at Central Connecticut State.
  • Jaguars DL Jeremy Mincey played collegiately at Butler County (KS) CC.
  • Jacksonville DL C.J. Mosely played collegiately at Missouri.
  • Kansas City C Casey Wiegmann as well as Jacksonville DE Aaron Kampman and C Brad Meester all prepped at Aplington-Parkersburg (IA) High School for the late Ed Thomas, who was named the NFL's High School Coach of Year in 2005.
