The Jacksonville Jaguars will be coming into to Kansas City to play the Chiefs with more than a bruised ego after a 30-3 thrashing on Monday Night Football to the Tennessee Titans.
They've got quarterback problems.
Starter David Garrard left Monday's game against the Titans with a concussions. I think this week, more so than others, it's less likely Garrard plays. The NFL is cracking down on how concussions are treated and I just think you're going to see Garrard sit this weekend. Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio indicated that they wouldn't have an answer on Garrard until later in the week.
Trent Edwards, who stepped in when Garrard went down, has what Del Rio called on Sirius NFL Radio this week "a little bit of a thumb issue that could be problematic." I'm not sure which QB is better but SB Nation's Big Cat Country suggests Edwards didn't know all the plays when he came in on Monday.
In the event one of those guys can't go, Todd Bouman would be the guy. He's the third quarterback signed recently. There are also a few reports out there that the Jags are thinking of bringing back QB Patrick Ramsey.
Big Cat Country's prediction is that Edwards will play assuming the "thumb issue" isn't a huge issue.
As a Chiefs fan, this should make you feel better about this game. If you're not completely in sync with your offense, playing at Arrowhead Stadium is NOT an easy task.
