So far, so good Kansas City Chiefs fans. KC is beating the Houston Texans 14-7 this afternoon. On the whole, the team is looking improved over last week's game against the Indianapolis Colts. Matt Cassel is playing better, as is Dwayne Bowe. Overall, you should be feeling good right now if you're a Chiefs fan.

Here are some notes on the first half:

  • Mike Vrabel had the Chiefs' first touchdown of the first half. Matt Cassel completed a short pass to Vrabel in the end zone after an 8:37, 74-yard drive.
  • Cassel hit Dwayne Bowe for a touchdown with only seconds left in the first half. It was a great play by both Bowe and Cassel.  Bowe also had a great 19-yard catch before that to keep the Chiefs' drive alive.
  • Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub hit Andre Johnson for a long passing play to set the Texans up for their first touchdown of the day. Eric Berry slipped in the end zone a few plays later and the man he was covering caught a touchdown pass.
  • Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles are close to splitting carries. Charles has rushed for a few more times than Jones though.
So far, so good right? Give us your first half grade in the comments. Mine is an A-.
