- Texans DBs coach David Gibbs (2006-08), asst. strength coach Matt Schiotz ('94, '97) and strength coach Cedric Smith (2007-09) coached with KC. Gibbs ('95-96) and Schiotz ('95-96) also coached at Kansas.
- Texans asst. DBs coach Perry Carter played for the Chiefs ('95).
- Texans S Bernard Pollard (2006-08) and G Wade Smith (2008-09) played with the Chiefs.
- Chiefs area scout Willie Davis played for HOU/TEN ('96-98).
- KC strength and cond. coach Mike Clark coached at Texas A&M ('90-03).
- Chiefs LBs coach Gary Gibbs is a native of Beaumont, TX.
- Kansas City DBs coach Emmitt Thomas is a native of Angleton, TX and played collegiately at Bishop College.
- Chiefs OL coach Bill Muir coached for the Houston/Shreveport of the WFL.
