DaJuan Morgan Released By The Colts Hours Before Chiefs Game

Here's a shocker: DaJuan Morgan was released by the Indianapolis Colts.

The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Morgan in 2008 and released him a little over a month ago in the first week of September.

The Colts had their top two safeties out -- Bob Sanders and Melvin Bullitt.

The Colts said throughout the week that Morgan would likely see more playing time against the Chiefs. Chiefs head coach Todd Haley suggested that it's possible they would target players they're familiar with, such as Morgan.

Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com says that the Indy media were clearly surprised by the release considering he was featured on some of the local pre-game shows.

Maybe some trickery from the Colts this week.
