We've been going through the tiebreakers and I believe we've nailed the top five picks in the NFL Draft this April:
1. St. Louis Rams (1-15)
2. Detroit Lions (2-14)
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-13)
4. Washington Redskins (4-12)
5. Kansas City Chiefs (4-12)
The Redskins and Chiefs needed a tiebreaker to determine the 4th and 5th picks of the draft. Per NFL rules, strength of schedule is first used in determining draft order.
Redskins opponents have .492 SOS while the Chiefs have a .515 SOS. The lower the strength of schedule, the higher the draft pick in this case.
If strength of schedule had come out even, then a coin flip would have been used to determine draft order.
So, for the second time in three years, the Chiefs hold the 5th pick in the NFL Draft.
Here's the site we used to help calculate the numbers. We'll let you know of any changes.
